Hi there,

I just got the purge mechanism working, but it seems that there's some odd behavior with the part cooling fan and filament selector stepper motor.

For the fan, it will turn on right after the first filament switch to cool the purge blob, but then it will stay on while it continues to print on the first layer. Is there a way to have the fan turn back off while printing the first layer for more reliable bed adhesion?

For the selector stepper motor, I noticed that the sensorless homing is much less sensitive now, and the selector crashes to the right while attempting to home. It seems to still home correctly, but I'm wondering if this is typical behavior after switching to this mechanism and if there's a way to prevent this.

Another question I have is regarding filament settings. Does the purge mechanism or changes to gcode affect the cooling process in any way? I noticed that since switching over that my filament tips have become significantly worse (more stringy) despite no changes to my settings or filament.

Hi @zepherino

The gcode contains a default tip shaping and it may be different than the parameters you used before.
If you wish to use your own tip shaping settings then either extract them from an old gcode file and replace them in the tool change section. Or use the plugin from VintagePC.
