Can I set correct model orientation? if model is wonky ie on its side or upside down on import.

The simplest thing to do it use netfab basic (available with PrusaSlicer), or some other mesh transforming app, to correctly orient your model the right way up before importing your model into SimplyColor3D.

If you have already painted your model then you can use blender to reorient your model and maintain the UV coordinates without needing to repaint.

Would it not be a nice simple feature to implement this, within Simplycolor3d, rather than have to open external apps every time.

Half of my files come from Thingiverse etc and are in the wrong orientation.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find this useful and greatly benefit from it.

Nice? Yes!

Simple? No

But it is already on the list as you can see from the kickstarter page (find the "future development" section). But first thing we are focusing on is the fundamental functionality of the application. Currently there are several free applications that do all those transforms. And there are several major bugs that we are working to resolve. It will happen, it's just going to be a while.

in the mean time, be aware that the model imports in it's Z up orientation. If it initially appears to load on it's side then you should update the orientation externally and re-load the model.
