Today I tried coloring and splitting an in my opinion fairly simple egg-shaped model.

I attached a screenshot of the colored model from simply color 3D.

However as you can see in the next screenshot when imported into PrusaSlicer it shows a really strange splitting of the colors and it reports 1114 errors.

Any idea on what to change?

@thetommynator

Is it possible for you to attach the OBJ & PNG exported from SimplyColor3D? Then we can take a look.

@bigbrain3d

Have you already found a solution for this? Or could at least look into this problem?

Just taking a look at the OBJ file, that is not a simple model. If you zoom in, there are lots of planes that would probably need to be cleaned up, clicked on, painted, or something...

When Painting single STL. files and painted in 3DSPColor 2.0 it look fine but when you send it to either Prusa p2pp or SP3D slicer part of the STL file is cut off.

@cpang

We are already working on a fix for the cutting off of tall models. This should be ready this week.

Hi,

When Painting single STL. file I have no problems. The Issue I am getting and probably most of your customers is when the file is split into color files there file they with scattered unknow parts where if you use a slicer you would not know which color file it belong to do I just ignore that file? I have a snap shot show with SF3D slicer fragmented STL. file. Second color split file don't print as smooth as file already made on Thingiverse.com is there a way on your side when the STL. is color spitted go through a repair process before splicing?

Thanks,

Carlos

This is another snap shoot of fragmented STL. file in SF3D of 3D OWL which I would think is not a single color file but a multi color file. You get the same file in Cura too. I don't think you can just put it in one of the four color pick since it look like the parts of the file is from different colors.

Thanks.
